11th JanuarySet off from the United States.

Begin your journey to Uganda with a direct flight from New York to Nairobi, followed by a short (45-minute) flight to Entebbe International Airport, 25 miles from Kampala.

12th JanuaryArrive in Uganda

On arrival in Entebbe, you’ll be welcomed by a Redroad Tours guide and transferred in comfort to your Kampala hotel for the night.

13th JanuaryRiver Nile Adventures

Following a delicious breakfast, you’ll drive for two hours to visit Jinja, home to the source of the Nile. You’ll meet the team at Sole Hope, a non-profit organisation whose mission is to eliminate jigger infestation in Eastern Uganda. They have a weekly mobile clinic, where you’ll have an opportunity to get involved and learn more about their vital work.

Lunch will be at a downtown Jinja restaurant (at your own expense). In the afternoon, you’ll take a spectacular boat tour on the Nile and see the source of the world’s longest river.

14th JanuaryRhino Tracking and Safari

Today you’ll begin your journey to the incredible Murchison Falls National Park, located five hours north of Kampala, arriving at your lodge accommodation for lunch. Midway through the drive, there will be time for a short stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where Uganda’s last-surviving rhino population can be found. Here you’ll learn about conservation efforts, and how to track the rhinos in the wild, with an easy but enthralling walk through the bush.

In the afternoon, it’s time for your first game drive. Murchison Falls National Park is blessed with a stunning variety of African wildlife including elephant, buffalo, lion, giraffe and many more. Driving through the park in search of these majestic creatures will provide moments to treasure forever.

15th JanuarySafari at Murchison

An early start this morning, as you set off before dawn for another three-hour game drive adventure, and a further opportunity to encounter African wildlife in their natural habitat. On your return, you’ll have the rest of the morning to relax around the lodge, which has a swimming pool and idyllic views over the river.

In the afternoon, an exciting boat trip along the Victoria Nile will offer you the chance to see hippo, crocodile, and an astonishing array of other animals such as elephant and buffalo.

16th JanuaryChimp tracking and return to Kampala

Leaving the lodge in the early morning, you’ll travel on to the Budongo Rainforest, which provides habitat for several species of primate including chimpanzee. On arrival, you’ll join an unforgettable chimpanzee tracking expedition, a four-hour adventure taking you up close to a family of chimps. You’ll spend an hour observing the animals and their fascinating behaviours.
Following your chimpanzee tracking expedition in Budongo, you’ll drive back to overnight in Kampala.

17th JanuaryCity tour and Evening flight

For your final morning in the capital, you’ll need your walking shoes, water bottle and of course your camera at the ready, as you’re immersed in the sights and sounds of a Kampala walking tour. The tour will be capped with a visit to a local craft market, where you can shop for memorable souvenirs. Afterwards, you’ll return to your hotel and pack for an evening flight home.
