
This special Redroad tour of Kenya is a comprehensive safari experience of Kenya. Experience a selection of Kenya’s iconic safari destinations: Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy, Masai Mara Game Reserve and Amboseli National Park that embody the spirit and soul of Kenya’s old classic safari adventures. Experience the harsh wild, the savannah plains and the great rift valley that play host to some of the greatest wildlife spectacles on the continent of Africa.
Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to your hotel. You will be received by a Redroad Tours guide at the airport.
Have a relatively slow day to recover from your flight. Enjoy the sight and sounds of Nairobi. Visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, the giraffe center and the Karen Blixen museum. In the evening, get treated to a showcase of Kenya’s cultural music, dance and drama.
Set off early and head 4 hours north to Central Kenya at Ol Pejeta wildlife conservancy. Enroute to the sanctuary, enjoy views of Mt Kenya, the second highest mountain in Africa. Check in to your lodge and later take an afternoon game drive.
Take a full day game drive, delving further and deeper into the conservancy. Encounter various species of wildlife only found in northern Kenya such as the Grevys zebra and African wild dog. In the afternoon visit the chimpanzee sanctuary and learn about conservation practices that are being employed to preserve the chimpanzees.
Set off early and transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is known as a bird sanctuary most famous for the pelicans. Take an afternoon game drive and search for the black and white rhino that both reside here. Head to the lake and view the pelicans and a number of other bird species.
Set off early morning and drive 6-hours south to the Masai Mara game reserve. Enroute to the Mara, enjoy the spectacular views of the Great rift valley. Check in to your camp and in the afternoon, hop on to an open roof safari jeep and explore the Masai Mara. The reserve is endowed with large volumes of Zebras, Wildebeest, and Gazelles, with also lions, hyenas and cheetahs a common sighting. Encounter Giraffes, Elephants, Buffalos and hippos all prowling the plains of this magnificent reserve.
Set off early before dawn and head out for another game drive. This second drive offers an opportunity to search for animals you may have not seen the day before. Patiently scour the plains and tree-fringed rivers in search of animals. You may find the elusive rhino or leopard to cap off your Big 5 sightings. Later in the afternoon take a trip to a Maasai village and be treated to Maasai hospitality. Get to watch and learn about Maasai culture and lifestyle.
Transfer to Lake Naivasha located in the Great Rift Valley. The lake shore is known for its population of British settlers during colonial times and the Oserian flower farm (Africa’s largest rose producer). The lake is also a bird haven and offers a wonderful rest stop with picturesque surroundings. You can take an afternoon break or choose to take one of the activities below.

Take a boat safari
The most popular attraction is taking a guided boat safari on the Lake. The lake is home to a variety of birds from pelicans to kingfishers and other smaller and brightly colored birds. The waters are also home to hippos, and along the shore you will spot Cape buffalos and other herbivores.
Explore Hell’s Gate National Park.
Considered one of Kenya’s most naturally beautiful parks, with spectacular landscapes and scenery. Hell’s Gate national park is not as intimidating as its name suggests. The park is made up of unique volcanic formations consisting of red earth, towering pillars and cliffs. You can hike some of the scenic canyons or take a mountain bike ride on its dusty roads.
Walk with animals at Crescent Island
Combine a boat tour with a visit to Crescent Island. There are no predators residing in the sanctuary, therefore you can literally walk on foot among Zebras, Giraffes and Wildebeest on the Island.
Set off early and head to Amboseli national park. Check into your lodge, in the afternoon explore the wide dry plains of Amboseli. The park is home to the big 5 and other wildlife such as hyenas, Maasai Giraffe, Cheetah, Crococile, Dik-dik and lesser Kudu.
Of course the park is famous for backdrop of the towering Mt Kilimanjaro and the great herds of elephants roaming the Amboseli plains.
On this day, explore further the dry Amboseli plains with interest in the species you may have not spotted the day before. Visit the green swamps that dot the Amboseli plains and are a hub of activity for animals such as the elephants, rhinos and buffalo. In the evening, head to observation hill and enjoy amazing photographic views and a stunning sunset to behold.
Set off in the morning and head back to Nairobi. Take the afternoon off and rest at our hotel or head out to a Maasai market and get some souvenir shopping done.
Transfer to the airport for your return flight back home.
