Do I need a Visa?
Uganda Visas
Most foreign nationals will require a visa to enter Uganda. In most cases, these can be very easily arranged either at the international airport or at the land borders with Kenya, Tanzania or Rwanda.
To save time and hassle, we recommend arranging an electronic visa (e-visa) before you travel through the government’s online portal.
Uganda Visa Costs
The visa costs USD$50 and is valid for three months from the date of issue.
East Africa Tourist Visa Scheme
Note that if you plan to travel beyond Uganda, you can also get a 90-day, multi-entry East Africa Tourist Visa which covers Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda and costs USD$100. The first country listed on the visa must be your first arrival point, and no visa extensions are possible.

What Our Travelers Say
EXCELLENT Based on 19 reviews Posted on KaleyVerified Ultimate Uganda best bits - including gorillas What a fabulous Ugandan experience! In 9 days we managed to explore all the best bits of the Ugandan communities, nature and wildlife. A small group of us, very well looked after by the vivacious Vivian and the charismatic Nico. End to end we had great energy and atmosphere as the activities built up to the gorilla trekking day. We met royal descendants, spent time with several communities; we listened, we danced, we supported, we gifted treats to children. Coffee Queen and Banana Man were immersive and entertaining events. The wildlife was immense! We saw 7 species of monkeys, including tracking chimps in the jungle primate capital of the world, from land safari we saw lions, leopards and bucks, from river we saw elephants, hippos, crocs and lizards… and an abundance of birds throughout. The gorilla trekking was breathtaking, a spectacular experience I will cherish forever. We had lovely strolls and chilled by swimming pools, drank beers and played cards. We had it all, with value for money fee for the accommodation and transport throughout. I’m already working on how I can go back!!Posted on Janette WVerified Gorilla trekking aand taste of Uganda This gorilla trekking and safari trip was absolutely fabulous. I spent last week with the wonderful team at Redroad Tours and cannot recommend them highly enough. They are very knowledgeable about all aspects of Uganda from its history, to its culture and cuisine and of course to its amazing wildlife, birds and landscapes. They are charming, highly professional, kind and caring and with seemingly endless patience and calmness, they make the whole experience of travelling through their wonderful country, a total delight.Posted on Helen SVerified Top trip! I booked a solo trip and met a group of other solo travellers in Kampala. Redroad Tours were incredible. I genuinely don't have any constructive criticism to give, the trip was perfect! Vivien was on the ball, she went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met ahead of time. She's an absolute legend. Shes approachable, engaging and genuinely interested in your trip. Nicolas was fantastic, he was fearless driving the unpredictable roads in Uganda and Rwanda. He too, went above and beyond in a kind and professional manner. I would 100% recommend Redroad Tours, they're awesome. I look forward to looking at other trips on offer through this company!Posted on RosieVerified Murchison falls safari experience A friend and I visited Uganda for the first time and spent 3 days with Nicholas, visiting Murchison falls national park. Nicholas was so welcoming and a fantastic safari guide. He was very knowledgeable and tried hard to give us the best experience possible. We made unforgettable memories and would highly recommend Nicholas and RedRoad tours, we would definitely use them again!Posted on Becky BVerified A trip of a lifetime (thanks to Redroad Tours)! I couldn't recommend Redroad tours enough. Nico was a fantastic tour guide. He was very knowledgeable with the areas we adventured to and taught us a lot about the area (and the animals). We loved our safari trip! It is important to feel comfortable and safe with your tour guide and Nico absolutely did both - he became part of our family for the week. He also helped facilitate my partner planning a surprise proposal for me which was everything and more. Nico was accommodating regarding scheduling and flexible with creating an itinerary that worked for all members of my family. If we ever return to Uganda, we will definitely be hiring Redroad Tours again. Thanks for everything Nico! A trip of a lifetime!Posted on stu dVerified Friendly service I had lots to do on this trip, and both Nicolas and Henry, made it much easier with great time keeping, safe driving and friendly service. Thanks so much!Posted on Pam MVerified Excellent service We had excellent service from Red Roads. Our requirements changed after booking but these were courteously accommodated. We cannot speak highly enough of our driver, Henry, taking us from the airport to Moroto, then to Kira Farm, and back to the airport.Posted on Michael IVerified Great guide helping us organize the trip.
