Travel
Red Road Tours Ltd does not arrange flights or make any travel arrangements to your program location. It is your own responsibility to arrange your own air fares and travel to the program location. Red Road Tours provides advise and pre departure information to you, it is your responsibility to obtain all necessary travel documents, such as visa, work permits etc.
You are responsible for ensuring your travel documents are complete and up to date for your travel. Red Road Tours cannot accept the responsibility if entry is denied to a country due to incorrect visa or travel documents.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is compulsory for all participants of Red Road Tours. All participants need to buy full comprehensive medical insurance for their time of stay in our project. It is your sole responsibility to purchase your own travel insurance.
Please ask us for details at reservations@redroadtours.com for more details on how to buy Insurance from Red Road Tours. The Insurance is provided by a third party vendor and Red Road Tours Ltd. does not take any responsibility towards claims or disputes with the Insurance provider with the client. You can also buy insurance from any other agent or company.
Refund Policy
Red Road Tours provides highly affordable programs and our booking fee is amongst the lowest, as a result we do not provide a complete refund policy. Please read the details of booking and program fee payments below.
Booking Fee
A non-refundable deposit herein referred to as a “booking fee” (currently USD 200) will be required before we can confirm each booking. Payment of this fee allows us to block dates for project placement and accommodation for each participant and is non refundable under all circumstances. A volunteer’s placement on a program cannot be confirmed until the booking fee has been paid in full.
Under the rare instance where Red Road Tours is not able to accept you in the program, we would be refunding you the booking fee less $50 administration charges.
Program Fee
You will find the complete program costs on each program page on the website or one of our program brochures. Red Road Tours reserves the right to change the program fee anytime without any prior information. Full payment of the program fee is due 30 days from your program start date, if you fail to make full payment before this time Red Road Tours has the right to cancel your program.
The payment of program fees does not guarantee the exact program selected. In case we are unable to offer you placement in the exact program and dates requested, we will work with you to provide acceptable alternatives, failing which we will arrange for a refund if appropriate. As with all volunteering in developing countries, it is important that participants remain flexible as things can change on short notice. Staff shortages, school and public holidays, etc. may require the participants to take part in alternative projects from time to time.
Registration fees and program fees are not transferrable to other persons.
Cancellation of program by you
Red Road Tours needs to get cancellation requests at least 30 days before your program start date. Red Road Tours incurs a lot of charges in order to provide a suitable program to the client.

Cancellation of program by Red Road Tours
In case Red Road Tours has to cancel your program due to certain operational reasons, Red Road Tours will refund part of the remaining time period of the project fee calculated on a pro-rata basis excluding the booking fee of US$200 and 3.5% (seven percent) bank charges.
If your program is cancelled by Red Road Tours due to any uncertain natural calamities (for example – earthquake, floods, typhoon, cyclone, tsunami etc.) your Program & Booking fee would not be refunded under such circumstances.
Payment of refunds
Red Road Tours will refund the applicable refund amount to the client within 30 (thirty) days of confirmation of cancellation.
Refund requests must be received thirty (30) days prior the program start date through written confirmation via email, fax or post. Upon receipt of the request the participant will be notified immediately via email. If the participant does not receive confirmation they should assume that the request has not been received.
Red Road Tours would not provide any compensation whatsoever for any of its programs.
Program Change by you
All program participants are allowed to make ONE change to their choice of program and dates applied for (at no extra charges) before their placement has been confirmed by Red Road Tours. A charge of $100 is applicable for any subsequent change to the program from your side.
Use of Photos and Feedback
By agreeing to the terms and conditions you agree that Red Road Tours can use your photos and written feedback while at the project to post on its
website www.redroadtours.com. Red Road Tours might use such material for marketing/promotion in form of brochure/emails/ or on its website. Red Road Tours also uses photos and material from our partners and affiliations abroad and in Uganda and is not responsible for claims arising towards that material/photos/content. This includes photos and videos posted on our Facebook page and other social media network sites.
Personal Risks
The volunteer acknowledges and accepts the responsibilities and risks associated with their agreement to travel to, temporarily live in and provide volunteer services in a developing country. Such travel and volunteer work can be hazardous and involves a certain degree of risk, inherently dangerous activities and personal perils to the volunteer, both foreseen and unforeseen, all of which are fully accepted by and solely assumed by the volunteer. Therefore, Red Road Tours including any and all of its employees, managers, directors, shareholders, host families and host country partner organizations are not liable, to the maximum extent of the law, for any loss or harm the volunteer or associates may suffer, including but not limited to loss caused by:
You accept and acknowledge and confirm that personal injury or illness, emotional trauma, property damage and death can occur by natural causes or activities of persons or animals, either as a result of negligence or because of other reasons.
By signing up for our programs you confirm that you have read and agree to our terms & you are waiving of any Liability that, amongst other things:
Vaccinations and Health
We may offer you a list of suggested immunizations and travel health tips based on such publicly available sources as the United States Center for Disease Control. However, you understand that we are not medical professionals and have no medical expertise whatsoever. We strongly recommend to all our participants that you visit a medical professional before your trip; however, it is your sole responsibility to arrange and determine any required immunizations and medical procedures that you may need before, during and after your time in the field with us. It is your sole responsibility to arrange and administer any vaccinations/immunizations required to be taken for travel to the country of your program.
Furthermore, you accept and acknowledge that we have no responsibility regarding the adequacy of any medical care, medical equipment, medical supplies and or any evacuation plan that may be provided to you before, during or after your program. You are solely responsible for your own welfare, and you accept and acknowledge any and all risks of personal injury or illness, emotional trauma, property damage and death that may occur as a result of you joining one of our programs.
‘Red Road Tours’ is an Agent to provide programs
You understand that ‘Red Road Tours’ is an agent acting on behalf of suppliers, hereinafter “Local Partners/Local Coordinators”. You accept, understand and acknowledge that we organize, promote and offer programs that offer accommodation, transportation and other services provided by our Local Partners/Local Coordinators, which are independent and separate entities from Red Road Tours, and over which we have no authority or oversight.
Some examples of Local Partners include but are not limited to hotels, restaurants, as well as the entities where you may volunteer in, for example local biological reserves, clinics and hospitals, nonprofits, local companies, local coordinators, staff of other local hosting companies and schools.
By signing up for our programs you confirm that you have read and agree to our terms & you are waiving us of any Liability that, amongst other things forever releases us, our owners, our directors, our shareholders, our employees and any persons or groups associated to us of all liability related to:
Code of Conduct
You agree that you would abide by the rules and regulations set out by our partner organizations in the home country. If we or our in-country partners find your behavior unsatisfactory due to drugs, alcohol, stress, abuse or a medical condition. Your program would be terminated under the following conditions:

Financial Disclaimer
Red Road Tours does not take any direct responsibility for the use of third party online payment facilities. Red Road Tours will not be responsible for any malfunction in software for online payment. All disputes arising with Payment fraud will directly be dealt with by the Banks or the relevant/appropriate financial institution, depending on the method of Payment used by the customer.
Legal Binding
These Terms set out by Red Road Tours shall be legally binding upon you, your family, heirs, administrators, executors and legal representatives. In accepting this document & by applying for our programs, you are not relying upon any oral or written representations or statements made by us other than what is set forth in these terms.
Governing Law
Red Road Tours will only deal with any disputes or charges in Uganda and is governed by Uganda Law. All copyright issues including others will only be dealt with in the Ugandan court of Law. All disputes and cases will be solved in Kampala, Uganda only.
Gorilla Safari Lodge is a private and secluded upmarket lodge with spectacular views of the Bwindi rainforest and located close to the Gorilla Trekking starting point. The lodge consists of spacious chalets, the main lodge area with a restaurant, and a bar overlooking the Bwindi rainforest and a gift shop. It also has free WIFI available at the main lodge area.
These are chalets, each consisting of a spacious room, a private terrace, and en-suite bathroom. They are beautifully decorated and nicely lit with great views of the Bwindi rainforest. Each room is fitted with large comfortable beds, plush linen, mosquito net wrapping around the bed, lounge furniture, and a fireplace. The bathrooms have flush toilets and showers with hot and cold running water.
Meals are all included; 2 breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners. The restaurant offers 3-course meals of local and international specialties.

Rushaga Gorilla Camp is a mid-range mountain lodge located in the south-eastern part of the park near one of the four gorilla trekking starting points known as Rushaga. The lodge has excellent panoramic views of the Bwindi forest and is a 5 minutes' walk to the gorilla trekking starting point. It also has a restaurant that offers a full English breakfast, an a la carte lunch menu, and a choice of 3 set meals for dinner. You can also access free WIFI at the main lounge and restaurant area of the lodge.
These are spacious cottages with large comfortable beds and linen, lounge furniture, and a private terrace looking towards the Bwindi rainforest. All rooms have a spacious private bathroom with flush toilets, solar-powered hot showers, a sink, and a dressing countertop and mirror.
Your stay includes two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners. The meals are all made from western or intercontinental cuisine.

Gorilla Valley Lodge is a small, low-budget lodge located in the south-eastern part of the park near one of the four gorilla trekking starting points known as Rushaga. The lodge has a small restaurant that offers a basic continental breakfast and a few options of international cuisine for lunch and dinner.
These are clean and modestly furnished brick and motor rooms consisting of a comfortable bed, linen, towels, and en-suite bathrooms. The bathrooms have solar-powered hot water showers and flush toilets. The rooms also have lighting, power plugs, and mosquito nets over the beds.
Only breakfast and dinner are included in the basic plan. You can order lunch daily at the restaurant.

Paraa Safari Lodge is an upmarket lodge with the refinements of a 3-star hotel, located in the center of the park looking over the Nile river. Facilities include spacious rooms, a restaurant, a bar, a pool with a bar, and a gift shop.
Paraa safari lodge boasts the best location in the park and offers the conveniences of being so close to the jetty for your boat safari on the Nile river, and close to the game viewing areas of the park. No lodge offers more conveniences for your 3 Days Murchison Falls Safari than Paraa Safari Lodge.
The rooms are nicely lit, decorated with plush linen, and towels. All rooms have a private bathroom with hot showers and a hairdryer. The rooms have a coffee bar, a reading table, refrigerator, complimentary bottled water, and a private balcony.
Meals are all included; two breakfasts, two lunches and two dinners. The restaurant offers three-course meals of local and international specialties.

Pakuba Safari Lodge is a mid-range lodge, located on the northern side of the park facing the Albert Nile. The facilities include a restaurant, terraced room blocks and a swimming pool.
The lodge is in an excellent location for game drives and with nicely furnished rooms, offering you better value for your money compared to other mid-range accommodations, making Pakuba the ideal lodge for your 3 Days Murchison Falls Safari.
All rooms have a private bathroom with solar-powered hot showers, a reading table, a closet, and a private terrace. The rooms are all air-conditioned.
This plan is inclusive of all meals. The price includes two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners during your stay. The meals are all made from western or intercontinental cuisine.

Red Chilli Rest Camp is a low-budget camp located in the center of the park on the southern side of the Nile, only 500 meters from the ferry crossing point. You stay in brick and motor, African thatched houses locally known as bandas.
The camp also has a restaurant that offers an a la carte breakfast and lunch menu, and a choice of 3 set meals for dinner. The combination of a great location and a right level of comfort makes Red Chilli Rest Camp the ideal budget accommodation for your 3 Days Murchison Falls Safari.
The bandas all include a double bed or two twin beds with linen and a mosquito net. A few bandas have private bathrooms, but most uses shared bathrooms. All the bandas have lighting, power plugs, and a fan. There’s a limited number of Ensuite bandas. The camp has shared toilets and bathroom stalls with hot water available.
The basic plan includes breakfast. You can buy lunch and dinner every day at the restaurant.
It’s inexpensive and safe.
Even though Red Chilli Rest Camp’s location is better than other budget accommodations, it’s not the best for game viewing. It takes about 30 minutes, including crossing the Nile on a ferry to get to the wildlife. The ferry has set crossing times, and these can limit the amount of time you spend viewing the animals. All the other low-budget camps have the same challenge. None is close to the wildlife.
Electricity is only available at set times of the day, except lights are always on. The set times are from 7 am to 9 am, 11 am to 2 pm, and 5 pm to 10 pm. Outside these hours, guests charge appliances such as phones and camera batteries at the restaurant.
