Safari is a must do for any first time visitor to Uganda. Murchison falls is the best and most convenient park to take a safari. This 3 days’ safari is the best way to experience an authentic safari to a park that has diverse wildlife and landscapes to explore. You can make a stop at the rhino sanctuary on your way to or from Murchison falls and hopefully complete the Big 5.
Rhino tracking – $45 per person
You can make a stop on your way to Murchison falls national park for a visit of the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. A protected reserve established for the preservation of Rhinos which were all killed during Uganda’s war torn past. With the help of a ranger, you will get to track on foot these magnificent creatures and also spend time learning about the efforts being taken to protect them. This is a great way to support wildlife conservation.
Chimp tracking – $85 per person
On your last day, visit Budongo forest, a tropical rainforest located within the park. The forest is home to chimpanzees and variety of other primates. You will spend the morning with the ranger walking through the woods in search of these cheeky creatures. Once you find a family, you will spend an extended time watching and observing them interact with each other in their natural habitat.
A representative of Red Road Tours will pick you up at 6am from your accommodation. After which you shall depart for Murchison Falls National Park. This is a 6- 7 hours’ drive. During the drive, you will make a couple of stops to stretch your legs, have lunch or stop in case you need to use a bathroom.

Game Viewing:
At 4pm, you will go for your evening game drive. This is a 3-hour game viewing expedition. With the assistance of a game ranger, expect to find wide range of African wildlife, crater lakes and spectacular scenery.
Activity of the day:
Game viewing
We provide a second opportunity for game viewing so that you may have the chance of finding the animals that you may have not seen the previous day. Unlike, the first game drive, this one starts in the morning just before dawn at 6am, so that you may have the chance of seeing animals that otherwise stay out of the scorching sun during the day.
Boat Launch to the Top of the falls
This is another game viewing expedition, but instead of a drive you do it in a boat. This is done in the afternoon between 2 and 5pm on the Nile River. The boat will head upstream towards the base of the Murchison Falls, where you will get off and hike to the top of the falls. On your way there you will enjoy a wildlife showing of hippos, crocodiles, elephants and various species of birds.
You will set off from the lodge at 9am for a 6-hour drive back to your accommodation in Kampala.
