This tour is for wildlife and nature enthusiasts want to see the world famous Mountain Gorillas. You will begin with a city tour of Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, and then head towards the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest the misty jungle that is home to the majestic mountain Gorillas.
Upon arrival a Kigali international airport, you will be met by a Redroad Tours representative and transferred to your hotel for the night.
In the morning, you will take a city tour of Kigali including visiting the Genocide memorial. The tour covers history, significant landmarks and current sights and sounds that have defined the city of Kigali throughout its young life. After lunch, you will begin the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest, a 5-hour scenic journey taking you across the border into Uganda. You will get to your lodge in time for dinner.
You will make an early start and head to the park headquarters for briefing and starting of your trekking expedition. The Bwindi forest is located in the volcanic highlands of the Virunga mountains. This intimidating and thick tropical jungle is home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
You will be immersed in the mysterious intimacy of the rainforest, alive with colorful bird calls. Upon sighting the gorillas, you will spend a full hour with them as they go about their daily life, feeding, playing and raising their young. Coming face to face with these magnificent creatures is one of wildlife’s greatest fairy tale moments.
Return back to Kigali for your return flight. Take in the breath taking scenery along the way. We recommend a flight after 1800hrs.
