Kidepo is probably the hardest park to reach in Uganda. However, it offers some of the best game viewing adventures you will ever experience on the continent of Africa. The park boasts a wonderful array of wildlife and a remote beauty that has mostly gone unnoticed. Enjoy incredible game sightings without the tourist volumes.
Depart from Kampala in the morning and begin the 10-hour journey to Kidepo valley national park. You will stop in Gulu town for lunch and will make it to Kidepo in time for dinner at your lodge.
Head out on an evening game drive along the Narus valley. Keep an eye out for buffalo, giraffes, zebras, lions, antelopes and elephants – you might even spot the odd jackal with the help of your guide.
After lunch, visit the Kanangorok hot springs and then take a hike to visit the Ik tribe. The Iks inhabit the Murongole mountains near Kidepo valley.
You will have the opportunity to spend the day exploring the Kidepo and Narus valleys. Game drives are such a thrilling way to view wildlife, and this second day will hopefully offer you a chance to see what you might have missed the day before.
This is your last day at Kidepo valley national park. Wake up really early, have breakfast and then head back to Kampala. You will have a few stop overs for lunch and bathroom breaks.
We hope you had an amazing time during your trip!
